Visual Processing

Visual processing is the ability to understand visual information and includes visual memory and visual perception.

Eye Disease

In addition to visual skills, we also oofer extensive testing of the health of your eyes, inside and out, for such problems as cataracts, glaucoma, hypertension, diabetes, macular degeneration, and retina detachment. We use advanced, state of the art technology to detect subtle eye disease and general health problems which might remain undetected.

Comprehensive Eye Exams for Children

Experts in pediatric eyecare recommend that pre-school children receive a complete vision and eye health exam at the ages of three years, five years, and every year thereafter. It is particularly important that a child have a complete evaluation in the summer prior to entry into Kindergarten. While in school, yearly evaluations are recommended. Testing for visual skills is recommended when there are reading problems.

Comprehensive Eye Exams for Adults

Experts recommend a yearly eye exam for adults to detect and diagnose vision changes or problems and also to maintain eye health. For example, early glaucoma (a disease caused by increased pressure in the eye) and early macular degeneration commonly go unnoticed by adults. Comprehensive eye examinations are also important for the prevention of vision problems created or aggravated by today's academic and professional demands.

Modern lifestyles demand more from our vision than ever before. Adults in our technological society constantly use their near vision at work and at home. Environmental stresses on the visual system (including excessive computer use or close work) can sometimes induce headaches and/or visual difficulties which can be effectively treated with corrective lenses and/or Vision Therapy.

There's more to healthy eyes than 20/20 eyesight!
